The overarching goal of any bioprocess engineer is to minimize the physiological changes in bulk drug substances by controlling the production process. Traditionally, the emphasis has been on the freezing of these products, but the thawing process is also critical to protecting drug substance stability, efficacy, and shelf life.
When it comes to thawing bulk drug substances, there are three common methods – water bath, tabletop defrost at ambient temperature, or convective air thawing – each of which have both advantages and disadvantages.
During this webinar, we will review the pros and cons of each of the common thawing methods and explore new data related to using convection technology and how it can provide operational advantages in the bulk drug thawing process.
